On 29th January, the Young Adults Association successfully organized an interactive session on the subject ‘Managing your money’. Mr. Steven Fernandes, CFP; SEBI Registered Investment Advisor was the resource person. The programme began with a short prayer. At the outset Mr. Steven shared the experience of his journey as a financial expert and advisor, and how he, with his background experience says "if only a hundred turn up for the talk, he would evaluate this event as a successful one". To our amazement we had a staggering turnout of more than one hundred and fifty people.
Mr. Steven impressed on the audience the importance of financial planning and setting up financial goals, long as well as short term goals. He oriented the listeners on how to achieve his investment goals and how to set his planning right. He spoke about financial education, equity shares/mutual analysis, direct mutual funds, stock broking, real estate, know your expenses - budgeting, and an array of related topics relating to finance and investments aimed at someone who's just started working to the middle aged looking forward to their retirement plans. It was a very rewarding experience for novices like me and for people who are already well versed with financial planning and investments. The session ended with Mr. Steven satisfactorily answering the queries and clarifications put forward by the audience regarding financial planning and investments.
The Young Adults Association (YAA) under the guidance of Fr. Oniel Rodrigues had really worked very hard in the course of two weeks to manage and put up an event like this. The event was a great success and we hope that it bears good fruit in the lives of individuals and families. We thank Our Lord Jesus that we are in a win - win situation today so as to be able to use and manage our hard-earned money well, and to reach and achieve our individual and family investment goals.
