Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism is the first rite of initiation into Christianity. Through Baptism, we enter the community of the Body of Christ.
Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments.
Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." (CCC 1213)
Procedure for Infant Baptism:
Parents who wish to get their child baptised in the Church must provide copies of the following documents in the Parish Office:
Baptism Form
Marriage Certificate
Municipal Birth Certificate
Pre-Baptism Course certificate (of the Parents and Godparents)
Parents and Godparents must attend a Pre-Baptism Course at Our Lady of Lourdes Church or another parish. If attending the class elsewhere, you must provide the course certificate while submitting the necessary documents required. The classes in the Pre-Baptism course are held on the first Sunday of each month at 2 pm (except during July). Please contact the parish office to register for the Pre-Baptism course.
Baptisms are celebrated on Sundays at 11:45 am (except there will be none during Lent)
Baptism Preparation for Adults:
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) prepares adults to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.
For more information about the RCIA process contact Fr. Cedric Rosario at cedric.rosario@gmail.com or the Parish Office.
