On August 29, 2024, all the sectors of community 8 came together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the chapel with an atmosphere filled with reverence and joy. The festivities began with a Tamil mass at 3:15 PM, preceded by a flag-hoisting ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. This special event also included a heartwarming birthday celebration for Fr. Aniceto Pereira, marked by the cutting of a cake, as parishioners joined in to express their appreciation and affection.

The faithful, carrying love offerings, followed the procession of the priests, demonstrating their deep devotion. The celebration then moved to the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the illumination of faith, followed by the Holy Eucharist. During this sacred mass, hearts were opened in prayer and gratitude, invoking the intercession of Mother Mary to continue guiding the community closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

After the mass, the procession continued towards the Our Lady of Good Health Vailankanni Chapel, located in Patel Compound.
