Hope and Life Movement
The Hope and Life, an Archdiocesan Association, is a blend of Spirituality, Fellowship, Outreach and Support. Today, the Association has about 2000 widows and is present in more than 50 parishes.
They began with just six members in our church in 1994 and currently have 108 members.
The cell places a high priority on spiritual development by planning retreats regularly and running outreach initiatives to assist and empower widows. They help them accept widowhood as a vocation, thus gaining emotional stability. They also reach out to those who need counselling, assistance in making their will, accompanying them on doctor’s visits, etc.
The members are very proactive and innovative and have organised a project of 'creating wealth from waste' by which has led to a successful sale of the items, filling them with a sense of gratification
By their actions, they spread the message of Jesus and work towards empowering our widowed sisters.
The Hope and Life cell meets every first Sunday of the month at 5 pm in the Nihar Hall.
Priest-in-Charge: Fr. Harry Vaz
